A RipFir app

Every lap, timed.

No transponder.
No excuses.

LapLine turns your Apple Watch into a lap timer for practice days. Walk the track once, set your lines, and arm it on the gate — every lap splits itself, and your phone does the math.

Why LapLine

Practice is where you get faster. It's also where nobody's timing you.

Race day you've got a transponder. Practice day you've got a buddy with a phone, or nothing at all — which means the day you actually work on your riding is the day you fly blind. LapLine fills that gap with hardware you already own.

How it works

Four steps. Then it's automatic.

Setup takes one walk around the track. After that it's two taps a moto.

1

Walk the track

Walk the loop once with your watch. LapLine records the shape of the layout.

2

Drop your lines

On your phone, tap two points for a holeshot line and two for a finish line.

3

Arm it on the gate

Tap Arm Moto. The clock starts when you cross the holeshot line — not when you tap.

4

Ride

Every finish-line crossing splits a lap. Tap End Moto when you're off the track.

The trick

The layout changes every week. Turn one doesn't.

That's what makes this work. MX tracks get reshaped constantly, but the finish line and the first turn stay put at any given facility — so your timing lines get reused week after week. Walk the new layout if you want the map to look right; your lap times don't need it.

What you get

Real timing data. Not a stopwatch.

⏱️

Automatic lap splits

Line-crossing detection modeled on how transponder timing actually works — the holeshot starts your clock, every finish crossing ends a lap.

🏆

Best & average lap

Full finish-to-finish laps only, so a warm-up lap or a sighting lap never pollutes your best time.

📊

Consistency

How tightly you're stacking laps. The number that separates a fast rider from a rider with one fast lap.

📉

Fade

How much slower your back half ran than your front half. The most honest fitness metric in the sport — and the one you can train away.

🔁

Moto-over-moto comparison

Stack every moto from the night side by side and see the lap trend across the whole session.

🗺️

Your track, mapped

The walked layout drawn on a map with your holeshot and finish lines marked, so you can see exactly what's being timed.

Watch does the work

Recording runs as a workout session, so GPS stays alive in your pocket — and the ride counts toward your rings. Syncs to your phone when you're done.

🔒

Private by design

Your recordings stay on your devices. No servers, no accounts, no tracking SDKs.

The honest comparison

It doesn't replace your transponder

A transponder scores races, and you still need one for that. But it's roughly $300–450 of hardware plus an annual subscription, and it only works when the track's timing loop is switched on — which isn't practice day. LapLine covers the other days, with gear that's already on your wrist.

Pairs with

Found your fade? Go fix it.

LapLine tells you your back half is two seconds slower than your front half. RipFir Train is how you close that gap — periodized strength and conditioning built for moto, including a dedicated arm pump progression.
